So I was told about this site.....
Thanks KC. I posted on RL and he told me about this site.
I am looking for a 996 TT, with 3 pedals. I am pretty handy/mechanical, so not afraid to turn a wrench, but also understand the value of time as well as sometimes it's better off letting an experienced person do things. I do not need a show queen or a track car, but just a good, fun driver.
A little history, my childhood best friend's dad had a guards red 911 Targa with whale-tail. I got to ride in it multiple times, sweet car. My uncle had one of the first 944s in the States and put about 350K on it in 11 years before getting a new 968. Fast forward some years and I now have this itch that isn't going away, going on 1-2 years now, so it's time to put one in the stable.
Anyway, if you come across any good examples, please pass them my way. I reside in Texas but traveling is not a problem for the right example.

Don't be afraid of high miles on a 996TT. The Mezger engine has shown to be incredibly robust, with several documented cases of well over 200k miles without needing a rebuild. The rest of the car is pretty solid as well. Yet, there are a lot of guys out there that won't consider buying a 996TT with more than about 70,000. That makes the "higher mileage" cars a great buy. (it is still hard for me to consider a 15 year old car with only 75,000 miles to be "high mileage", but welcome to the 911 Turbo world).

Re: So I was told about this site.....
Thanks all.
I was going to look at one of the Houston one's last weekend but something came up and I couldn't make it. It has 9 POs, which is a lot and coupled with no service records, I crossed that one out.
I am still waiting for pics of the Vegas one, they took it to get offsite repairs 2 days ago. If it looks good I may hit you up on that Doc.
Miles don't bother me, in fact I prefer one to be driven some instead of a low mileage garage queen. Bad things can happen when vehicles are not used.

What are your thoughts on this high miler? https://www.barrettautogallery.com/inve ... s/43777811 I suspect that is too many miles for most, but I do wonder what a fair value would be for it.

Re: So I was told about this site.....
Well, from the first to the last pic, looks like the spoiler works. Do you like the grey interior? The drivers seat looks a bit dirty but in otherwise good shape. Exterior and interior look pretty clean for a 100k mile car. The left tailpipe looks a bit lower than the right but that's a cheap, easy fix.
I'll be out and about tomorrow so just let me know if you'd like some in-person notes from an unbiased party.
