All Miata swaps are weight favorable really, when you consider overall performance. The V8 swaps add 100-200 lbs and a lot of it is in the transmission and rear end. The K24 swap loses 20-30 lbs off the front. All of this and you keep the double wishbone suspension front and rear. Another reason I’m considering the k24 is that I can get by on lower spring rates most likely and nice coilovers for a wee bit less. I’m still going to have insane money in the car when done but it should be quickish and pretty durable when beat on.

Thanks, so far so good. I found a whole host of weird things loose or missing after the first days on track but everything looks good and snug this time. Really really fun day on Friday.
