Some dingus on a Miata forum just literally said a race school doesn't teach you about how your drive a car on a racetrack and now I'm googling how to delete someone else's internet posts so I don't get banned from there for threats of violence.

Space will depend on someone trailering a car. Not sure if someone is doing that or not. FSI has me using DT40 for the street and XP5 for the track. Needless to say I go thru the oil in the Summer  Maybe I take the track oil with me and have the street oil shipped to a oil lube place. And then there is the track tire conundrum...and btw Indy is August and this instructor is paying $150 to drive for 3 days. You need to make it!
If only that "someone" would get off his rear and get a trailer :) I run XP9 and with the cage + seats/harness combo in my 996 the trip to RA will be rough. I'll most likely be trailering the 996 up to RA, and to Mid Ohio...and to NCM...and to unemployment and bankruptcy.

I received an unprompted email from Jud yesterday, based upon my conversations with Blue Chip, that XP9 is good for 750 miles OR 1 track weekend. But not both. After one weekend it is trash and needs to be thrown out. Hmnmm.... Now the UoA’s of my XP9 with 8 track hours actually looked pretty good. But at what point do you say F it and just go with M1 15W50 racing oil which most of the TX SP996 and SPB guys use without issue?

Good question for sure. I don't think that oil knows "time elapsed" What if the weekends are back-to-back, what if they are 6 months apart and the oil sits for months? My take is common sense - if you're only using oil on track and your weekends are relatively close together than keep the oil in and go with the mileage "expiration" on the oil. I do so many track days that it gets swapped out regularly anyway.

Too many variables - I spoke with the folks at Driven at the PRI show this year. I explained my usage model (use it for track, driving to and from and rarely over 750 miles). Change it prior to most track events, etc... Driven was good to go with that plan.

I say use any oil designed for wet sump track use and you'll probably be good to go. Wait did I just get baited into an oil thread?...damn slakker!

You made it over here! I'll give you some cash to go to the trailer rental
