I have the Vgate iCar2 Wifi ODB-ii dongle ($20). It turns on with the ignition switch and turns itself off 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off. I've had it about two years and it's worked great. It has a very low profile which is nice. I had other ones that I kept kicking while getting in and out of the car.

If you use your phone to stream music or for navigation, you'll have to configure the device's static IP address so your phone won't try to connect to the Internet via the dongle. The instructions are included.

So I got my Autel AL629 today and plugged it in to clear the airbag light. Hit command to erase code. It went out for a couple seconds and came back on. I ran the read code and it came back as passenger seatbelt error. I felt around under the passenger seat and found a brown wire frayed and hanging loose. Is this the problem? Do I need to remove seat to repair? It’s a 1999 C4 Cab. Thanks, John

We told you to read the code before clearing it ;)

What is the brown wire connected to? The seat belt latch? If so, then yes it is probably the culprit. If not, then no.

If you have small hands you could possibly repair the wire in place, but as the seat is pretty low (e.g. not much can get under there) I'd want to pull the seat so I can get a good look at what is going on down there to make sure there is nothing else amiss.

According to Renntech it's an E12 torx (sorry it's been too long since I bought my torx sockets and couldn't remember the size.

No more light! Thanks all for your help. Got a set of Torx sockets (it was a E12) and removed passenger seat. Found cut wire and spliced back together. Hooked up the Autel Al629 and cleared code. Gone! Easy fix. Thanks again, John
