HOT DAMN! The Corvette finally ran out of...power steering fluid!

For about a year, the Corvette has been bleeding what I believed was motor oil dripping down the motor and off the gearbox or MAYBE leaking gearbox oil, though it didn't stink nearly badly enough to be the sludge I run in that slushbox. But I digress.
The dilemma: I couldn't see that it was leaking any more of either of those fluids than normal, yet the Corvette diapers (the sheets of old cardboard) were really getting a workout, but never pooling or even gathering in large enough drips to positively identify color or viscosity.
About three months ago, I decided I would only top up the mission-critical fluids (oil, gearbox oil) and see what ran noticeably low first. Despite normal measurements before the "experiment," I was sure it was going to be gearbox oil...I have a couple of strange but minor gearbox behaviors resulting from YEARS of being beat on for 8 hours, parked for 7 days, beat on for 8 hours, ad infinitum...so I was STOKED when I cranked the wheel to pull into the driveway last night and instead of complying, the steering pump howled its complaints about running out of hydraulic fluid.
The one system I give zero shits about is the one that's been pissing all over my garage for a year!
Win!
