Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
I am now dealing with some P0491 and P0492 codes. I need to fix this so I can get an inspection which lets me get plates I took off the rearmost diverter, it was bad, so I ordered a pair of Kaysers today. I hope to get them installed this weekend and it clears the problem.
Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Just an update. I was having some misfiring on WOT, especially in the last 500 miles. This past weekend I did the coils and plugs, not too hard but did take some time. I have to do the rest of the 60K service but being that it is a few thousand under, I have time. The plugs were definitely needing a change and at least 2 of the coils were cracked, they were the originals.
I was getting some hard shifting and grinding when it was cold, so I also changed the tranny and diff fluid. The 75w90 was a little dirty and seemed thin, so I am anxious to see how much it improves when shifting.

Let us know how the shifting goes. I have a minor issue shifting into 1st from a stop.

I don't think I bothered with a DIY, but I drained and refilled my gearbox a couple of years back. The cold-morning starts were getting progressively more brutal and I didn't want to go down the second-gear pop-out rabbit hole.
Since refilling with Motul Gear 300, the gearbox has been problem-free - it's probably about time to do it again. It's an easy job, but that shit STINKS worse than rotten fuel.

I have not driven it much but it is better. Albeit the weather is warmer too so the real test won't be until I am in cooler weather. It's not hard but you will need a pump to transfer fluid into the diff/tranny, I used this and it worked well. https://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and- ... /94647_0_0

Use gloves and a drop cloth - I have a giant roll of Visqueen that has been underwriting my oil changes for at least a decade - the NEW gear oil smells terrible, and the OLD stuff smells like something that would dribble out of Satan's adult diaper.

They're known to scratch the car. Mine is scratched.
Here's what happens... People go to wash their cars, put the rear wiper in service mode, and then while they're washing the car, they may he it with high pressure water causing the wiper to slap back against the car. Scccccrrrratch!
Plus, many people remove them because frankly, it's not needed The aerodynamics of the car pushes most of the high pressure wind/rain past the rear window.
I've used it twice.
Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Couple of days ago I decided to attack my lopsided spoiler. After 6 hours, I finally asked for help on RL and Kevin chimed in to give me some diagnostic pointers. Big kudos to him for the help. Turns out the block in the pump is busted and was not raising/lowering. I always knew I would get Dave's kit, but didn't think it would be so soon. Ordered the 4" today with boots and speedy option, cuz I wanna be like KC. Looks naked with no spoiler, just two holes. Everything is removed on the underneath deck. I was over dealing with that stupid system and had no desire to fix it next year if the o-rings go.
My buddy asked me if I was happy with it still, given what I have done to it in a short time. I said yes, but I am anxious to drive it more. Fortunately it is storming all week so it's not as bad as beautiful skies.

You will be pleased with the eRams. It's not a repair, it's an upgrade.
