Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Thanks. Since I posted I’ve installed Kevin’s tune which is great and bought a slightly used Europipe, I may install that this weekend. I had recently changed out my O2 sensors due to an intermittent code and wanted to confirm it doesn’t come back, so far so good. So RnR exhaust soon.
On a sad note, I did get hit with the proverbial rear wiper scratch:( I’ve ordered a kit from Alloy and Chrome and will install when it arrives.

Basically what happens is, the owner wants to clean the rear window, puts the wiper in service mode position, and as he is cleaning the rear window not having a care in the world... shaaaabooom.... the thing snaps back and when it does, the bottom of the wiper rotates, and thus, ends up scratching the car.
Yep, you guessed it... mine is scratched.
Seriously though. Bummer

Be thankful, IP. My father-in-law has a shop, they service several fleets of vehicles each week. He tells his assistants to never use wiper service position when washing a car/truck. The guy got lazy, pull the wipe in service mode, and began to pressure wash the truck. The water pressure from the wand hit the wiper, it snapped back, and cracked the front windshield. Boom... $500 down the drain.

If you are in doing the EP, grab some gaskets for the headers and pull them off and port the ramps. A couple hours work and it has a big difference on spool up with Kevins tune.ipman wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 8:16 am Thanks. I do have new gaskets that I will put in when I swap(probably after the 100+ degree weather), but what do you mean by "port the ramps"? You are not saying to remove the headers completely are you?

Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
You will have to remove the headers completely to port them with a grinder, then clean the insides out with a dish washer or ultrasonic to make sure no debris. Quickens the spool by 400-600rpms on K16's. Takes about 2 beers in time to knock down the welds 60-70% with a carbide burr or stone then polish with 180-320 grit sanding wheels.
Worst case pick up a spare set of headers when some show up for $200-300 and port and put them on, you do not have to take the bumper/ect off to swap them, takes about half an hour to swap them out.

Re: Search is Over, Picked up a 911TT
Just to update this, I did install my Europipe yesterday. Took about 3 hours. I also replaced my motor transmission mounts in the last week due to some notchy shifting going into 3rd. The tranny mount had little wear but the motor mounts did. 62K on the car currently.

Cool. Yes, those mounts were definitely stretched out. Hopefully it helped with the shifting.
