The last time I was happy about that car was the day before I bought the damn thing.

I've got a sweet little Audi A8L I'll trade you for either of your cars - even up, you don't even have to throw in any boot. No body damage. Just let me know.
Thanks for the generous offer, KC, but... No sir. No way. No how. I view my ownership experience of this car with more months of it being in the shop than being able to drive it as something not at all unlike a troublesome girlfriend that's fantastic in bed. When I'm not driving it, I think about how much of a pain in the ass this experience has been. But as soon as I'm behind the wheel tickling the fun pedal on the right, I'm reminded of why I have no intention of ever selling this car. Seriously... not ever. NEVER. And besides that, you were instrumental in talking me into buying this car. Good God, you were playing chess while I was playing checkers! This was your diabolical plan to get your hands on my red sled from the beginning! Damn attorneys!

I asked for and received photos of the sheet metal repairs; I'm satisfied that the car is structurally sound. The issues are cosmetic - they suck at the detail work.

We've been using another Caliber location near our home with fantastic results for years. This is a new-ish location, and they definitely don't have their shit together yet.

If tomorrow's pick-up doesn't go well, I'll accept the car and get any remaining issues taken care of at the other location. The benefit - if there is one - of going with Caliber is that Nationwide guarantees the work for the life of the vehicle (probably not transferable).

We bought the Jeep knowing it was going to be the ice-and-snow thrasher, so I'm not nearly as concerned about the cosmetics as the underlying structural repairs. However, there's no reason to let them get away with not putting the damn thing back the way it was before the accident. That's what the insurer is contractually obligated to do, and that's what we're going to keep pushing for.

Fingers crossed (and eyes rolling) for tomorrow!

We have a laughably tiny place in the San Bernardino mountains. Fun fact: we missed getting nailed by a landslide by less than half an hour yesterday. While I don't relish the thought of being crushed by falling rocks, it would have been fun to return Caliber's rental in post-landslide condition.

Dear Caliber I am returning your loaner so it can get back into the groove of your business. Sorry about the roof and side. Part of California decided to reposition it's self at the same time I was driving by. However, the positive part of this issue is it will give you the opportunity to practice improving your repair skills so a customer doesn't have to return their car over and over again for corrective actions. I'm sure you agree.
Sincerely,
ElS

Good news! We have been reassured that the Jeep will be returned to us in showroom-new condition today!

Also, Trump did not bang any porn stars, and the flat Earthers are right.

On the plus side: A $2K check from AAA showed up to cover my rental bills.

I think you missed the asterisk. There was some fine print at the bottom that you missed.

The Jeep will be returned to us in showroom*-new condition today!

*The showroom is in El Salvador.

A drunken Salvadorian drug mule with a rattle-can could do better than this shop has done thus far.

Holy sh*t! Caliber called ON TIME to schedule today's (likely disappointing) pickup!

I can almost feel the rhythm of life! Unfortunately, this is a new and rather uncomfortable, repetitive rhythm originating somewhere directly behind me.
