Great!
I got a set of 993 Turbo Twists that are the same size & almost the same offsets as the 996 Turbo recommended winter wheels. Now I need tires and I will need spacers to get the offsets to match. I am not over excited about using spacers, though it ought to be OK with all season tires.
I am not sure I will do this this winter... perhaps next winter.

We've had a really warm fall this year. I was thinking to myself that maybe I could have skipped the winter set of tires this year. But since I already had a decent set of rims, I went ahead with getting tires for them. I don't recall where you are located, but if I were any farther south than KC, I'd just skip the winter rubber and leave the car in the garage on the coldest of days.

I probably should get a thin set of spacers for rears only with my winter rims. Here is a shot of the car from a couple of years ago with the rims I am now using for my winter set (with the old summer tires):

The fronts are fine (they are the same 8" width as my current summer rims), it's just the rears that need to be pushed out about half an inch or so. My current summer rims are 11" wide, and they fill out the wheel well just right.
