At $70, that's pretty reasonably priced, too. We had a high school kid give swimming lessons to our daughter, and he was a Lego geek. So, my wife bought him a set of Legos to build something (I don't remember what), but it was nearly $150 on sale. That seemed a bit pricey to me, but he was a good kid.

I agree - and that's coming from someone who grew up playing video games. We're trying to steer our little dude in this "building & discovering" direction vs. the "sitting & vegging" direction. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to play games with him when he grows up. I just want to avoid him developing a dependence on them to be in social situations.

There are so many studies out there about the problems created by too much screen time in small children. It drives me crazy when out and I see over-wrought young mothers letting the iPad babysit their kid because she doesn't want to be bothered while eating, drinking, shopping, picking her nose,...etc. I know they're not my kids but I hate to think about those kid's future.

Yes! I want him to be able to carry a conversation with adults - even if they're just humoring him. I don't want him to bury his nose in a screen and tune out of life. It's so eerie how attached he is to my iPad already and I don't even let him play with it. Every time he sees it he's "ooh! ooh!" pointing like a mad man.

Ok, little man, bop the siri button once or twice and this stupid thing is going in the drawer!!

The guy designed all the models in this book. It includes parts list and complete instructions.

The wife found it while looking for something else and picked up a copy. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but for $20 it's pretty cool if you like Porsches and Lego.
