“Honey, our old 42” TV is on the fritz. I’m gonna run out and grab us a new one.”
Then hop on Amazon and order this 75” bad boy for $799:

https://www.amazon.com/TCL-75S425-Inch- ... 170&sr=1-9

You’re welcome
TCL?? Who the hell is that? Never heard of them. Besides this tv is mounted on a wall to allow viewing in the kitchen and the eat-in adjacent to the kitchen. So 75" would be over kill. I see you can buy this make in a 43" size for $230...I still ask who the hell is TCL?

I have a 65” TCL Roku TV in our family room that I bought for $478 last fall at Wally World. So far, so good.

And, no such thing as being too rich, too skinny or a TV that’s too big. I think Thomas Jefferson said that.

I forget who actually makes the TCL screens, but the company started as a budget brand for one of the bigger mfgs. Last I saw they were actually getting decent reviews.

As you are used to plasma, however, you're likely only going to find an OLED as an acceptable replacement when the time comes.

Yeah and I've not seen any OLED sets for $269!

I bought a 45" Roku TV from a buddy who picked a size too big for his wall. $50. Best damn deal of a lifetime.

I bought the same exact TV and I love it. I didn't think the Roku platform would add much to the experience, but just being able to search across all providers for specific content alone is pretty cool. I also didn't think 4K would be that much of a step up, wrong again.

They are a budget manufacturer, so we'll see how long this thing holds up. At this price point, it doesn't have to be forever.

Same here. If I get 5 years out of it, I'm happy - I'll probably be ready for whatever better TVs they have out by then. The 50" TV it replaced was 11 years old and I probably paid $1,000 for it. The 65" TCL is a quantum leap better in pretty much every way.

I don't think it will matter, bcz:
-We'll all be dead of Coronavirus by the first part of May;
-Greta says we've got, what, 7 years left?
-You said we've got some techy glitch that's going to kill us all in 2038.
