Re: 99 C2. Arctic Silver 6MT
Figured I would give it another try and listed it again this past week. 102k miles now. I did do the muffler delete last summer and it sounds great.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
I've driven mine for years up in the north with temps regularly at or below those temps. Unfortunately most of my trips are short, i.e 5 miles or less, but it hasn't been a problem. Just keep the rpms reasonable until the temp needle moves.

Re: 99 C2. Arctic Silver 6MT
Thanks. It's been a great car for the past 13 years that I've owned it. Unfortunately my kids are all much older and bigger now(teenagers) and it makes things a lot more challenging at times than I would like...taking multiple kids somewhere, going to my daughters softball games with her gear, etc.....

Re: Replacing the MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Just went thru this as well. CEL light came on twice over a few weeks and borrowed a friends durametric. Bought the tamper-proof T20 torx at Autozone(although had to go back after the first one didn't fit, apparently there are more than one style so I would suggest trying it for fit before you leave...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Dang, just when I was feeling good about this... but all kidding aside, I did unscrew the oil cap awhile back while it was running without any issues or difficulties which I thought were indicative of a vacuum leak. At the end of the day, it's a 20 yr old car so I know stuff needs to be replaced, ju...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
I did what a lot of us do...combed the blogs to find possible causes and fixes. One was simply disconnect the battery for 20-50 seconds and see if it resets, which is what I did and it worked, CEL is gone. Maybe it will come back on or maybe it was just a fluke since it came on right after filling u...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
400 mile roundtrip in wintry conditions today... about 50 miles from home the CEL comes on and stays on. Borrowed a buddies OBD and it gave me P1124 and 1126. Everything seems fine, so I'm trying figure out if it's the MAF sensor or something else.

Re: Stripped my oil drain plug
I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. Fortunately I was able to remove the plug without any issues, although it did cost me time, hassle and oil. I replaced it with the stock plug which cost approx. $5.00.
