Re: @#$& horn!

You should be able to open the engine lid without a working battery - you can on my '00, not sure about the '01. If so, you can use the jump points in the engine compartment to pop the frunk.

Fun with Durametric

The Rennvision video on ECU interrogation mentions:

Cam Deviation (within 6 degrees)
Rough Running Index (less than 1)
Fuel Trims (.95 to 1.05)

What are good things to check on a regular basis and what values do you want to see?
What settings can be changed with the Enthusiast version?

Re: The Chinese 996 is NOT the 996 you want

I get it, but I'm not working in a salt mine. I like what I do and if I get laid-off I'll get a year's pay and medical. These days it's a game of musical chairs in my company so as each quarter comes to a close I'm hoping that my chair goes missing.

No, but nice image. I should have said that I cover 12x7x365. The actual amount of work is a few hours a week. I could retire but why would I? I'll work until they tell me not to.

Re: The Chinese 996 is NOT the 996 you want

I actually work 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Really. But I work from home and when I die I will receive total consciousness. Which is nice.

Yea, I need one of those manometers. This is the exact same manometer as the CR Tools, but $80 instead of $300. Dwyer is the manufacturer, CR Tools just slaps their decal on it and triples the price. http://www.testequipmentdepot.com/dwyer/pressure/manometers/digital-manometers/single-differential-...

Re: Bore Scoring! Who knows for whom the bell tolls...

Looks like Part 2 is finished up and ready for YouTube next week. Parts 3-7 will require more shooting and so we'll have to get that scheduled around Raby's super tight schedule. I'm awaiting for his team to alert me about production dates at the moment. Did you do the camera work? In other words, ...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Awesome man! Beautiful car... go out and enjoy it. Lots of people are going with the double DIN radios. Unfortunately, the Continentals radios, while they look close to OEM Becker units, don't provide the same line-level pre-amp output to the frunk amp. You have to get a speaker-to-line adapter of ...

Re: Airbag Light

I have the Vgate iCar2 Wifi ODB-ii dongle ($20). It turns on with the ignition switch and turns itself off 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off. I've had it about two years and it's worked great. It has a very low profile which is nice. I had other ones that I kept kicking while getting in an...
