Re: Anyone here running sport cats with Fisters?

I’m running FVD 200 cell xpipe cats with Fister mufflers. It’s not quiet :)

The sound is very aggressive, not subtle when you’re on the gas. It doesn’t drone - but is louder than stock cats with Fisters.

I also get an occasional CEL due to the 02 sensors not liking the 200 cell cats.

Re: My 2002 996 "renovation" thread

Nice radio. ;) You might want to go get a can of bumper coat from Autozone and hit the left-hand knob so the color matches - when it was in my car, they were indistinguishable, but in your photos I can see the coated knob is a little lighter than the other. The bumper coat worked well to encapsulat...

Re: Racetrack Stuff

Ok, a couple videos, first one of a full lap. Tell me what you think I can improve. Looking for feedback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czKxDA3RL-Q This one is just fun. The Ferrari is probably a $350,000+ car? Sharing the uphill esses with a $5,000 car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJu1DTDW5V...

Re: 993 Photos

Here's a couple of my 1996 midnight blue 993.

What a 993 should be doing. This was on track at the Indy motor speedway - wishing I had more horsepower.
At a car show - where it seems most 993s tend to live these days.

Re: Tires, tires, tires.... ("shoes" to Schnelly)

I've run a bunch of different tires. Here goes with quick impressions for each. Track (996 C2): - Sumitomo HTRZIII - price performer. Crazy cheap, very predictable at the limit, loud on track, good in the wet. I call this the perfect "training" tire because you can easily find the limit of...

Re: X5's, Land Rovers and various assorted SUV's

My better half got a CPO 2014 Range Rover Sport. Tows 7700 lbs - good gas mileage for a big tub - doesn't handle too shabby either. I would not get one out of warranty. Overall after a few months of ownership I'm very impressed and sorry for the sucker who got hit with $40K of depreciation in a litt...

Re: Racetrack Stuff

Clearly the Boxsta' had some skills and etiquette issues and was slow as hell in the corners. It's kind of hard to tell the whole story from an in car video, but couldn't you of backed off a bit before the last turns into the straights/passing zones, had a much higher exit speed than you did while ...

Re: My 2002 996 "renovation" thread

PSM is not standard on all Mk2's. It was an option. I don't have PSM on my 2003 and have the joy of learning to catch throttle off over-steer in a rear engine 911. Thank you for clearing that up. Funny, from what I gather, you serious track drivers prefer to turn off all those "nannies". ...
