Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Why you be driving such a nice car like that on dirt? You own a Jeep right...? Some of us with all wheel drive (or formerly so in Schnelly's sacrilegious case) Porsches aren't afraid of getting them a bit dirty and getting off the beaten path. Some of my best runs in the 996 have been down gravel r...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

...and what is up with time changes? It takes me two weeks to adjust to falling asleep so early and not waking up in the middle of the night. Besides the fact that our 15# cat's stomach is still running on the previous time for two weeks. While it allegedly saves energy my guess is I'm not the only ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

We ended up with 19 treat bags taken. Usually there are masses of kids and there is little room to move on the sidewalks, last night you could go a couple blocks without seeing anyone else. Kind of depressing. Felt bad for the kid, but he still seemed to have a good enough time. Typical Halloween h...

Nah. Unlike politics, confusing the old guy among us is always allowed.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Cloning the boot volume didn't go the way I'd hoped. There was a recovery partition on the 512GB drive that also got cloned onto the 1TB drive, so I couldn't resize the partition on the 1TB drive. I blew all the partitions on both drives out and started over with the Windows install ISO on a flash ...

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

So I replaced the FEPs (no additional sealant) Thursday night. Haven't used the printer since given I'm in no rush to deal with another toxic chemical spill in my house, so last night I filled the tanks with water. Checked before bed after they'd been sitting for a few hours, dry as a bone. Checked...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

I finally got around to giving the 996 a proper wash this morning, including all 4 wheels. My wheel guy pointed the crests about 170 degrees opposite the valve stem on all 4 wheels. It is consistently but not precisely wrong, and it can't possibly be chance. I'm going to go subtly mark them so they...

I'd still do it, though.
