Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

My left ear is collateral damage from years of abuse, mostly from crappy venues in the 90's and gun ranges. I finished off the right ear shooting my 50-cal black-powder pistol...my noise-cancelling headphones crapped out right before I fired a round. I couldn't hear out of that ear for days and it'...

Re: Garmin Catalyst

I got a Garmin Catalyst a few months ago. If you don't know, it's for track driving. Supposedly it identifies areas where you can improve your driving in real time, and can communicate them to you via voice over a bluetooth connection. It has other features too. Because it divides the track into sm...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Speaking of my esteemed San Diego brethren, I am currently sitting at the San Diego Region PCA concours. Gorgeous backdrop for the event. Typically beautiful San Diego weather. A lot of very nice cars, and a few spectacular ones. Even in the parking lot. I was hoping they would be selling SDRPCA t-...

Re: rack'm!

Damn, it's a good thing you didn't buy a Boxste'. sddefault.jpg I never watched this show, but did they really call a Boxster a chick car? I mean, its a convertible I guess. There are a lot of other ones they could have chosen like a Miata. On a related note, the oldest is two years away from her l...

Re: Macan Without a Sunroof

Frankly I don't give a rats ass for a sunroof. I virtually never use a sunroof, other than to pop it open on a hot day to let the hot air out. Loved my 986 and rag tops are different . My 996 Targa is basically a big sunroof and a $15k repair if it breaks. I can't remember the last time I actually o...

Re: Don't Feel Bad About Checking Parts Prices

Ive been buying form Gaudin for years. They typically have the lowest $$ for genuine Porsche parts anywhere. Yea, if a a small order for low cost parts, the shipping cost can eat into the savings FCP does have one really good perk. Unless it has changed, everything comes with lifetime warranty and f...

Re: AutoX

We had a golf cart autocross for disabled and disadvantaged kids at the auto museum on Saturday. The KCRPCA helped the museum put it on with equipment and volunteers. We had racing suits made for the kids so they could take them home. There were a lot of smiles, fun & excitement - and the kids ...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Yea, much of the Coachella Valley was hammered. Roads in and out of Palm Springs closed. Part of the 10 freeway closed.

The desert just can't absorb that much rain all at once
