Re: Winterizing the 996

I've heard about the coolant pipes. I think you look for them being "pinned" already? Nah that is the 996TT thing. For the Cayenne's the issue is a plastic Y that either cracks or the glue lets go (both sound familiar to the 996TT crowd). The fix is to replace the plastic Y with an alumin...

Re: Winterizing the 996

I think in the 955 model, the S is the way to go. The base model is anemic with its 6 cylinder and the Turbo requires quite a bit more maintenance (based on the posts I see in the forums). They are pretty stout, and there are a lot of parts shared with the Touareg (meaning parts are reasonably pric...

Re: Winterizing the 996

CrappenWagen That would be VW's name in our family. Or in the correct German: ScheißeWagen That car I am hoping is a Cayenne because I'm a masochist. Prices have dropped substantially so see if a 958 is in the cards. Especially an oil burner if you can find one. I just past the 8 year mark in Novem...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

As I get older, I really get tired of the snow and cold. If I ever move out of my beloved NJ, Cali is probably where I would head next. I have to go out there once or twice a year for work, and I don't see the downside. A distinct lack of Pork Roll maybe. I love the weather here, and compared to ot...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

A dude that worked for me said about Florida: "The land of half-deads and newlyweds". My parents retired there too. Dad loved the ocean(former Navy guy) and fishing. Mom hated the heat and humidity, but she gave in to Dad. I get that... Florida = Gods waiting room My mom never wanted to s...

San Diego is the best place in the world to be a weatherman. You could be locked in a windowless closet and forecast its 72 d...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

It was 70 degrees Sunday afternoon. I grilled a rib eye barefoot while drinking beer and watching the sunset. And the THC extracts you can buy here - legally - are 80-90% pure. It has occasional upsides. I'll try to remember to remind you of this next year when you are looking for that one testing ...

Re: Anyone know much about 3d printers?

Holy Crap! Was this with the "new" printer?? https://photos.app.goo.gl/pqcUT8dgktqihH9w5 From outofmarbles.com. There are 10 tracks total (everything you see there took from Thursday afternoon until 1am this morning) and I'm not sure if I'll make the tower 10 levels high or just swap trac...
