Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
The snow started today, along with the city laying down enough salt to replicate Bonneville, so no Saturday drive to the Porsche Club breakfast tomorrow. Instead, I'm putting a couple more coats of Bead Maker on the old dog. Nice to spend a little time on it, even though the garage is a disaster. So...

Re: What twisted reasons do you admire the Porsche 996?
Notwithstanding that the '99 996 I got had most all of the features that I wanted, I bought a 996 because everyone else looked down their noses at them.

Re: Porsche Classic Motor Oils?

Re: Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Today I installed one of two CG Locks that I got for the 911. Driver side today. I got one for the passenger side for an instructor - I hope to do a lot of DE work next season. One tip for the 996 with the CG Lock - I ended up using the medium length screws to get it clamped on the buckle correctly....

Re: Exhaust mod - clarification of Gundo and Fister
Thanks for the clarification. I had always assumed that these were the same thing, just that Fister does a very professional job. NOW I know the difference. I'll probably go with a FD mod over the winter, as my 911 is a tiptronic - not that it makes a difference. I like the black finish that FD can ...

Re: So what's the point of yet another 996 site?
This last Sunday at our annual Oktoberfest All-German Car Show, someone in our local PCA chapter handed me a business card for 996 Outpost. Since I just joined the madness with a '99 911 last November, I could not resist.
