Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Just driving it. Ran up to Thousand Oaks three times this week to get escrow monies in, watch the place go through an inspection, got copies of documents. Went to the post office, went to the market, beginning to remember what it was like to drive a manual every day, year after year. My ear and the ...

Re: Taycan has Torch Boy issues too

Saw my first on on the road today. A rather ugly muddy dark gray...not mat but also not shiny. And with very ugly gold wheels. It was heading towards Thousand Oaks, from the SF valley so maybe going to the dealer out there. Was cruising at 60 to 65 mph...and no one seemed to notice it or care. Anoth...

Re: 2nd Amendment Gear

Sorry...I was thinking of how there are parts of California that really are Second Amendment friendly, at a time when many people don't think so. The "Marxist" remark was meant as a humorous aside. I'll be more thoughtful next time. Thanks for the heads up. it is an interesting map...and o...

Re: 2nd Amendment Gear FYI

An interesting way of viewing California. Yes a Marxist state...but based on gun friendliness, look how small an area the Marxists control.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Actually my wife did it...she got my LG4 (a dated phone she handed down to me) to interact through Google and allow me to make phone calls from my car over the dated touch screen Pioneer radio AVIC-Z130BT (whatever that is) that was installed by a previous owner in August of 2011. After 48 years of ...

Re: New Jake video series Focus on: IMS Bearing failure

Just to restate the obvious...and to make sure my remarks are not construed as negative towards Jake...many many many of us are enjoying our cars with great confidence because of the research and parts that Jake created. I understand his proprietary interest in not seeing his developments used with ...

Re: New Jake video series Focus on: IMS Bearing failure

With all respect, I sometimes I get the feeling that Jake is the "Doc Martin" of Porsches. 3 years and one month before I bought my car, the IMS was changed to the LN Dual Row Retrofit. It has driven 19,000 miles since then. The Retrofit is superior in design to the original bearing, so mu...
