I was advised to avoid BP 93 octane for my '87 Benz V8. I had been using it and the difference showed in that old motor. I remember the good old days when I was first driving in Omaha, NE. There was a gas station in the late 60's called Vickers-Safeway that had multi-grade premium fuels, all the way...

This is very non-scientific, but if its possible to darken the garage enough to tell, maybe there is an interior light bulb that is switched on but not bright enough to be obvious. I've had that happen on other cars.

Or for the truly ethanol-paranoid, Sta-Bil 360 is something that can be used to deal with the hydroscopic tendencies of the dreaded ethanol. I figure as long as I can get it, I'll use ethanol free. The nice customer service rep with Hy-Vee stores referred me to their petroleum procurement group, who have not and probably will not respond. I began to doubt wind-powered energy generation when one of the initial backers, the late T. Boone Pickens, dropped wind power like a bad habit. He said that it became clear...to him, at least...that the whole thing just does not work without the subsidies.

I use the same technique on snow as they do over in Kansas City, MO: solar power
