Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Enough already, I can't Taycan-y more! Great driving weather 'round these parts. Was out with some newer Porsches over the weekend. They're becoming so porcine that they make my C4S appear absolutely svelte by comparison. Goodbye small 911, hello Porkshe. And what's with all the rodiculous writing a...

Ironically, "Isn't it Paradoxical" doesn't sound quite right either.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?

Ordered some 7mm front spacers for the cabriolet today and have 14mm for the rear. Also getting some track pedals for the C4S. Couple of simple projects for the weekend ahead.

Is that mileage or current value in Yen?

If mileage, how many of those were driven shirtless?

Re: Replacing the MAF (mass airflow) sensor

You will need to obtain a new MAF. Hint: If you don't want to pay $500, go to the Bosch web site and look up which part fits your vehicle. For a 1999 Carrera 4, the part number is Bosch 0280218009, priced on Amazon at $148.02 in March 2013. Bosch warrants the MAF for 12 months, unlimited miles Upda...

Re: Exhaust mod - clarification of Gundo and Fister

20160204_161944.jpg I could not decide so I did both. it's not as deep sounding as I thought it would be but that could be due to the headers. It is a huge improvement in sound over the un modified stock exhaust. Let's call it the flatsix spaghetti mod! Quite a piece of modernist sculpture there.

Re: Photo roll call...post ‘em up!

Some of these shots are amazing. Taken by a 12 yr old through the windshield of a car in line behind me driving at speed. Amazing results when you think about it. This kid has a good eye and I wish I could take credit. Good job Aidan! First decent shots of my C4S on the move since I've owned it. Gru...

Re: Photo roll call...post ‘em up!

A few shots from the Gruppe J drive this past weekend with PCA Canada West Region. This was "The Iconic" drive and covered about 650km in a day. Every kind of scenery and weather imaginable, some fresh pavement and a memorable day for sure. Had Tim's 12 yr old son Aidan in a another 996 C4...

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com

Cool thing is that Jeeps and 996s have roughly the same number of modes of failure. Had a Jeep back in the mid 80s and loved it. Was a '42 Willys with a 3.8 litre Buick V6, T90 3 speed trans and 5.38 gearing. What a stump puller! Great fun indeed as long as you didn't want to go faster than 55 mph. ...
