Re: 996 C4 Tiptronic
Good advice Kalash! Makes me wonder about KK (from NC) and his "trip with the wrong tranny". There's no telling how many threads I've read about Porsche tip transmissions where the owner thinks the tranny is going bad only to find out it was just the linkage. ... or, TCU? Makes me wo...

Re: Car Stereo Stuff
Next, we looked at the current setup in the floor of the frunk. It has a 5-channel Alpine amp and then 4 Focal crossovers. There is no subwoofer in the car. The car has very mediocre sound and very weak bass. He said that he really couldn't tell how the speakers were wired up - he said it is possib...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Aerokit front bumpers are crazy expensive. When I cracked mine back in 2014, the quote for the part alone was $2,300 (IIRC). Luckily the body shop was able to repair it, and the cost with new paint out the door was only $900. You got robbed? We're on our 4th front (aero) bumper and it's never been ...

Hello all, A newbi here, as soon as I bought the car (2004c4s on 9/17),I removed the Porsche/Bose head unit, amp and the CD changer, installed a double din Alpine unit and wired up all the Bose speakers to a JVC amp plus installed the Bluetooth mic in the factory location, system sounds great with ...

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Oof! That... sucks. Glass half-full: a cracked sump plate beats ripped-off bodywork any day of the week. Hope she goes back together without any fuss. Doc brings the wisdom on this one. Be thankful you didn't nose dive and rip your front bumper off. That would have been crazy expensive to repair. T...

It can also be indicative of a person having a break through in their life where they find a place that allows them to speak up about events they have long suppressed. Being a victim is *hard* and the people who have experienced it don't necessarily act rationally or deliberately Sometime in the la...

Re: My 2002 996 "renovation" thread
Thanks for the care package, man! It wasn't necessary, but it's appreciated. I've already applied one of the caliper stickers to my phone case. Yes, I'm a tool. Glad you got it. Not sure if you have Advance Auto Parts in your area, but the same group owns Car Quest. You may be able to use that gift...
