I did the dreaded coolant tank swap - it lives up to its reputation. Afterwards, the coolant level sensor wasn't working so I went to the Porsche dealer to get a new one. They'll have to order it, but the trip wasn't a total waste as this was sitting in the showroom.

I installed the new V1 and the difference is dramatic. I had just a few alarms from automatic doors while driving around town. On the highway I had none. I pay a reduced rate with Allstate for the 996 limited to 5,000 miles/year. I think most insurance companies offer similar options.
