Are you sure that screwing with the people that have total control over your account is the wisest move you've made today?32wildbilly wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 12:31 pmYes. I remember that long ago dusty thread! I was only picking on the two resident geeks.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

So are the pics at the office or does your wife really let you keep that contraption in the house?

Those pics are at the office, but the Mrs. is very tolerant of my...gadget proclivity.

Update: The seatpost mount I used suffered catastrophic failure - looks like fatigue from the vibration - and the damn battery fell off.
The beam failed just past the weld - I was not anticipating this mode of failure. This mount is much more damped; I think that, plus the much chunkier beam, should result in a longer life span. If I make any bikes for other folks, I'll use a 3-point rack that will tolerate loads much better - I just like the look of this seatpost mount.

Always a good resume of a welder that the metal itself fails rather than the weld (bonus for the nice looking Tig weld)
Given the weight and that it's hung so far out, I'd add some braces down to the rear wheel frame. That should take the strain off that single joint.
