Never did the Nitro, but did envy them for the sound.

The new Battery Tech is to hard to pass cause you CAN GO FAST and batteries are so cheap, getting a few for consistent runs isn't to bad.

Been out of the RC Scene for a while, but have been keeping an eye for 996 body. If I find one, I would do 1 more build. ;)

The only 996 RC Body is not as nice as the 997 RC Body

Look at page 1. Can't get a better 996 body than that :P

It is a HPI Racing body. It is out of print, but you can still find it:

Back in the day 1977-1981 there wasn't much concern for noise pollution. While we did transition into tuned pipe mufflers they were not quiet. Not near as quiet as they are today. In fact, after a two day weekend of practice, qualifying and racing my ears would ring for a few days. Can you say hearing damage...of course you can. However, the engine sounds made the future hearing lose worthwhile! Of course RC racing followed by five years of dirt oval kart racing followed by three years of sprint car racing didn't help either!

The 4S batts should have enough extra juice for me to do like Porsche and BMW to add an engine noise generator to it
Use a sound generator that makes these sounds!
