Just bought an oil filter, synthetic blend oil and two wiper blades for it at Advance Auto Parts. Total cost out the door: $33.67.
Time to start the inaugural X1/9 Oil Thread?
Ha, last night when I was searching the Fiat forums looking for recommendations for oil, I was thinking the same thing. Everybody had their opinion. In the end, it seemed like a 10w-40 synthetic blend was the most recommended. I went into it thinking full synthetic, but very few were recommending that.

I’m going to stick it up on my lift this weekend. It will get an oil change and a good detail. I’m going to dye the tan trim on the seats to dark gray. Then slip in the new stereo. On Tuesday, the new tires go on.

There’s an Italian car show next weekend that I might put it in. Then on June 8th, we have an “Oddballs and Oddities” show at the auto museum that I’ve already registered it for. After that, I will start the process of putting it on BringATrailer. I like it, but I just don’t have room for it. Plus, it’s not red.

Wow. It's, it's, it's gorgeous. I am now looking at it in a completely different light . . .

Spent today working on the X1/9. Even though the car seems pretty rust free, I went looking for it today. Figured the battery box in the frunk would be a good place to start, and sure enough, I found some surface rust under the plastic box the battery sits in. Also found some in the floor of the frunk on the battery side. Everything was still solid, so I just used some rust neutralizer. Also found a very small amount along a seam in the nose of the car.

I spent quite a bit of time cleaning, but still have some to do. I detailed the engine bay, but although I tried my best to cover the electrical bits, the car didn’t like it and is now running rough.

Took it to the car wash and gave it a good bath. Then gave it the 944 Turbo’s spot on one of the 4 post lifts. The oil looks clean, but the filter doesn’t look freshly changed, so tomorrow it gets changed.
