After meeting with and dismissing an elecchicken for being not that much smarter than me (a terrifying thought), I decided "f**k moving the outlet - SOMEBODY must make a giant-ass extension cord appropriate for my application."

It turns out that many soulless monsters (Tesla owners) have the same need: to extend a "220" volt single-phase dryer outlet - so I picked up a stupidly robust 25-footer for less than a hundred bucks. I was expecting it to be hardcore - and I am not disappointed. Will post a photo of this monster before installing it...

At least you don't need to run that in DC. That cable would be bigger than your leg

Wow - duty cycle is IMPRESSIVE running at 220. I might need to upgrade my compressor or add a storage tank...

I still suck, but incrementally less...

Rewired my crappy Harbor Freight stick welder to run at 220v - hoping I can drag 1/8” electrodes now. At 110, it will only do 3/32. Seems to work, but I’m out of daylight.

Also, ordered some new accessories for the plasma cutter - I keep grounding the cutter on the workpiece and melting holes in the Venturi assembly, which makes cool green fire when the copper starts melting but is not so good for actual cutting.

Amazon will be sending me some drag tips, extended gas cups, and idiot-proof spacers...hopefully this helps.
