More than likely the wear pads are done. Could also be a faulty chain adjuster/solenoid.
That is one deviating cam alright. Can’t wait to get my ODB2 reader for Father’s Day and find out all the expensive stuff the engine needs. For cam pads, what’s the ballpark, does anyone know? Next year my LN bearing expires and I am most likely going with THE SOLUTION, but I also want to budget for whatever else I’m in for.
Changing out the wear pads on a 5-chain engine is very time consuming and lots of shops prefer to drop the engine to do the job. You definitely want to replace the entire chain adjuster units IMHO. Porsche sells them as a package deal which includes wear pads, chain adjuster, and solenoid, but good luck with getting any parts from Porsche at the moment. COVID has slammed Porsche parts to a full stop. The chain adjuster/wear pad/ solenoid systems are bank specific and cost around $1700 per bank. If you do this job yourself, DON'T get the banks swapped.

That's all well and good, sharing your technical knowledge. But right now, your talents are needed elsewhere:

It had been about a year since I had my Durametric connected; just checking the crap I normally check. Car is running fantastically; we'll see what the Porsche whisperers come up with.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Judging by the small wiper blades and angular door windows, I'll say the X1/9

I'm going with the e30. At least that's what the shape of the dash looks like to me. The hood also looks like it may be white.

ipman had it right. We had to run an errand, so I flipped max$wag the keys and rode shotgun. It was a gorgeous night. The car did pretty good considering that it was hauling around nearly 500 pounds of passengers.
