My insurance agent is a 900-year-old German lady who was VERY pleased she didn't have to execute me for pronouncing it wrong.

"Ve ver all so happy ven you said 'Porsche' correctlink."

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

This week marks my 9th anniversary bringing the 996 home...and I still have no plans to replace it.

Other than my Mom's Corvette, I've never kept a car this long...

Huh. 9 years ago sometime around now I was finalizing the order for the P!g (delivery was 11/4). It replaced my 8yr old Escape which was the longest I had ever previously kept a car (3-4 years were the norm before then).

Sorry man - I had one the other day.
Out of the blue a phone call. "Hi it's <so-and-so> from the IT security group at <your biggest customer>. We noticed this <product we bought 17 years ago> doesn't support strong encryption and we need that support added today."
Me: "Uhm, that product is 17 years old and what you are asking for didn't exist 17 years ago. It uses an 8 bit microprocessor running at 11 MHz and has 512 bytes of RAM. The lead software developer for that prodcut isn't with us any more. I really don't think that what you are asking for is possible."
Them: "Give us the contact info and we will get the lead software developer's advice."
Me: "I'm afraid that you're going to need to invoke a seance to get his advice."
