If your camshaft deviation exceeds 6%, your chain guides probably look like this...

I'm probably moving to Austin later this year and was excited that there are a bunch of good tracks in a reasonable driving distance. Then I looked at the cost for a weekend. COTA ~ $975!!. Damn, with PCA in San Diego,m its $300 and I get a $25 discount for committing to at least half of the track events and another $25 if I instruct. WTF Texas???

F1 track. Look at the other tracks in the region and you'll find better pricing.

Yeah I know I'm the same way...like a moth drawn to a flame...I know it's not going to end well, but maybe it makes me feel better about myself.

Yep. This really sucks. My youngest son is a big NBA fan is really upset about this - drove him back to college tonight and he was pretty quiet. Really hate to see something like this happen, and it seems like Kobe was one of the good guys.

He really is hilarious. Reminds me I got to get one of them fancy spin on adapters. I'm still using the stock oil canister.

Well, it is a tragedy, but because 9 people lost their lives, including at least 2 children, rather than it being just about Kobe. I respect his talent and his achievements, but when an athlete dies young, I don't really view it as any worse than a regular person dying.

Last week was the 20th anniversary of Chiefs' Linebacker Derrick Thomas' car accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. It was a one-car accident. He was speeding on an icy & snowy day. Also, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt - another passenger in the car wearing a seatbelt walked away uninjured. He died a few weeks later from a blood clot. So, it was on the news here last week. However, on that same date, there was an horrific 24-car pileup just a few miles away that killed 10 people (many of whom burned to death while trapped in their cars). There was no mention whatsoever remembering those people, who died due to no fault of their own. I was a big fan of his and it's a shame that Derrick died and at such a young age, but it's no more tragic than those 10 other deaths because he was a famous athlete.

As for Kobe being a good guy, I don't disagree. My one encounter with him was back in 2004. I was in Atlanta on a Navy Reserve drill weekend, and that Saturday night a friend and I went to see the Hawks play the Lakers. Kobe was "injured" at the time, but the conspiracy theorists said it was an unofficial suspension from this incident:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobe_Brya ... sault_case

Anyhow, we went to the Hooters next to the arena in downtown Atlanta after the game. A little while after we came in, Kobe and his entourage were seated at the table right next to ours. They acted like any other patrons - just ordered, ate, hung out and weren't loud or obnoxious. I thought about asking for an autograph, but figured he got bothered all of the time for that stuff and just minded my own business.

When viewed in the light most favorable to Kobe, the allegations against him referenced above appear to have been someone trying to make a buck. But, even then, it doesn't paint a picture of a guy who was totally devoted to his family.
