I'm confused, though - where's the requisite shower of gravel?

That's better... (spoken in creepy finding-just-what-you-need-on-Craigslist voice)

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

"Slicin and dicin"...Nicely done. I believe I have told you this before, but once again: I live vicariously though your track vids. Keep 'em coming.

Track video. Its one full session . About 9 laps. Takes aggressive determination to one by one hunt down and pass all the other cars! Unfortunately when I upload to YouTube it strips out the speed and track overlay. I have to try and figure that out still. Just had the video and data logging installed last Sunday.

Thx! Will do. Track season is on hold for the summer. Too hot Chuckwalla is 120F this weekend! Resumes in September.

All the tracks that are left here except AAA Speedway in Fontana are out in the desert. Freezing in winter months, roasting hot in the summer.

Was at Willow Springs a couple years ago and it was 14 degrees! Needless to say, high performance tires do not like that at all.

Ice on my car:

How long do you have to wait for the ambient / tire temps to come up?

The tires on my Corvette aren't rated for use below 40 degrees F...

"Glass transition" is a great description of that moment when you realize that UHP tires are not the correct choice for your current reality:

At 14 F I would guess the wait would be forever.

Discounting trips to Chateau 5chn3lly where would the Vette see temps below 40??

Yeah, none of our tires are rated for cold like that. A couple laps at lower speed generally worked to get them at least workable.
