Hi,

In response to all that you are correct it was just an easier option as the other style of muffler has much more more room to do the fister hack and the other way just seemed the right option, so in my case it was as I said more straightforward for my situation, they are both worthwhile just pick what best suits your muffler and workshop.

Also as a side note I had all intentions of doing the Fister hack until I saw how tight it was and went to Plan B!

Good Luck

Nice. The photos were just to help others who come along so they don't have to do as much research as you. ;)

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

I have to say the photo of the Fister mod muffler does show what a professional job they do.
Mine certainly isn't at that quality but at least you can't see it once it's back on the car.

The Fister is SUCH an awesome mod. I was reminded of this on the way to work today; a guy in a BRZ had TERRIBLE mufflers*; it revved and popped like the angriest R/C nitro car on the planet. It was definitely a good counterpoint to the Fister, and OP's Gundo mod is even better behaved.

I don't normally diss OPM (other people's mods) - but if you're gonna have a genuinely awful exhaust like that, at least spool a monster turbo with it. BRZ guy dropped the hammer...and then...excruciatingly slowly...the BRZ started to pull away from the cars behind. Reminded me of a steam locomotive climbing a hill - plenty of impressive noise, but not a great deal of forward progress.

Sounds like a lot of the morons I've had the displeasure of working with.

I'm on the fence, what I want most is to lose some weight out back...Sound is second.

My new to me 997S has a very nice throaty exhaust note very similar to the OEM PSE sound (Porsche Sport Exhaust). Owner I purchased the car from had no idea the exhaust was modified so it was a lucky find since I had planned to do a hack.

Hard to tell exactly what was done as the exhaust looked stock but when I finally got it on a lift my Indy pointed out the hacked in small pipes on either side of exhaust.
