Tiptronic intermittent in Manual mode?

Post by metrod » Mon Sep 09, 2019 11:38 pm

When shifting in Manual Tip mode occasionally I press up or down and it just doesn't change gear then if I move across to Auto and back it starts to work, it has done it a couple of times now has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks

I intermittently had times when I'd push a button to shift and nothing happened. Just stabbed at the button a few times and it shifted. It was rare, but did happen once in awhile.

I will throw out a guess that it is the button itself and not the actual transmission since it shifts fine in automatic mode.

My tip up shifts from 1st to 2nd at 6400 rpm even in manual mode. It goes all the way to redline in the other gears. It must be a protective feature or just wonky mapping. As far as the shift buttons, I notice a little lag , but I’ve not had one just not respond. I agree that the button itself might be the problem.

I wish there was a paddle conversion kit out there 😁
