eRam Discount for 996 Turbo Owners (through 2018)

Post by RennkitDave » Sat Feb 10, 2018 6:28 am

To help kick off the 996Outpost, Rennkit is offering a 10% discount to all 996 Turbo owners who wish to upgrade to the eRam electric wing lifts. They come in 4 extension lengths, are lighter and far more robust than the factory hydraulic mechanism. You can learn more about the design and failure of the factory hydraulic mechanism here: http://rennkit.com/why-factory-set-fails/ Also, the link under my signature describes the 996 Turbo eRam set in depth. Here is the checkout code: 996outpost10off at www.rennkit.com/purchase This coupon is only for Rennkit parts (eRam kits, Bluetooth Retrofit Kit) and does not apply to other products.

"eRam"? Whooosh, at first I thought you were promoting electric versions of the Ram truck or something. Glad you cleared that up.

Thanks Dave!

Very cool offer Dave! I'm still up in the air whether to go with a GT2 Decklid/Wing or go with a 997 Blade and your 4 3/4" eRam kit. I think they're both pretty awesome options! I have a question, have you thought about a 6, 7 or even 8" kit? I know that's quite high, but I think may look really good with either a 997 Wing Blade, GT2 style wing or a GT3RS style wing. As well as putting the blade even higher into clean air as well as may provide a better rear view out of the rear window. Or might actually be worse view as the blade might be right in the middle of the eye line depending on driver  I'm a fan of wings high up. But I also realize there may be space constraints within the engine bay, I'm just thinking out loud. But curious what you think.

Scott
I've got the Misha GT2 "add on" wing sitting on top of Dave's 4.75" eRams. Works great - you definitely notice it in your rear window, but taller would block the view more.
Also, I don't think there is room in the engine bay to accomodate longer rams.

Cool, thanks for the first hand report! do you think you could take a quick little video clip from the rear and maybe another from the side?I know the "add on" Wings are already sit about 2-3" higher than standard, so when coupled with that 4.75" eRams, it may be what I'm looking for perhaps!

Scott:
I'll make a video next time I'm out in the garage goofing around. In the meantime, here's a pic of the underside of the engine cover after the install, plus a pic of the wing in the down position and full up position. Also, here's a link to my review of the eRam system that I posted on Rennlist (dammit):
