New owner reached out after trading my old car in
Think it's kind of cool???
Sold my car to CarMax, before it went to auction broker picked it up and sold it to the new owner. Apparently, I left an old receipt that had my name & number in the car so guy reached out.
Told him the truth of where I left the car at (as far as what I was not able to complete for maintenance and repairs).
Will be mailing him all the receipts, history, etc. that I have. He sounds like he can wrench, so mentioned this community so he could get some "guidance".
Not sure if this is normal, but did feel good that car ended up with someone that will be enjoying it.

Normal or not it is very cool of you to do it.
Never gonna make you cry...

Pretty cool actually. He gets a far better history of the car and you get to know it ended up with someone that sounds like they'll enjoy it and take care of it.

I've been on both sides of this, and it has always turned out well. Just car guys helping one another out by sharing info on a particular car.
I do recall one incident involving a 996 where it didn't. Spectacularly didn't. Which is ultimately how we all ended up here.

That's awesome. I wish I'd been able to track down my 996's past owner - I would buy that man/woman a beer for the IDP plenum alone.

What is this previous owner of which you all speak??
Re: New owner reached out after trading my old car in
Unknown. I bought the car from Lusti Motors what, 6 years back? I'd like to find the person that did all of the upgrades - the aero kit, coilovers, plenum, wheels, tires - and thank them for being WAY more spendy than I would have ever been.
