If Hawk finds this thread you guys need to help me convince him to keep his 996 AND buy his dad's Supra. He lowers the price by $1,000 every day by the time spring comes he'll owe the buyer $50,000.

Very funny. I know my bottom line on the 996, and I haven’t hit it yet. I know spring time is the “right” time to sell it. I hate you Adam (saying it with as much love as I can) lol! I love my 996, I am just not in love with it anymore (isn’t that why divorces happen?).Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2018 8:14 pm If Hawk finds this thread you guys need to help me convince him to keep his 996 AND buy his dad's Supra. Spent the day at universal Orlando yesterday. How the hell did we ride the incredible hulk twice in fifteen minutes and then wait fifty minutes to ride some dinky ass Harry Potter thing. People are dumb. Including me, apparently.

BTW, DTM, you still owe your kids a trip to the City Museum in St. Louis. I can't believe you guys skipped that. It's one of the coolest places on the face of this planet. Let me know when you are going, and I'll drive over to meet you there.
I might even bring my own kids.

No one quite knows what kind of name it is. It has kept the monkeys at the gas station corporate offices confused for some time now. Their confusion has turned to anger and the anger has led to some poo flinging fights across the cubicles, and I assume at some point they will descend on the gas station and demand answers from the high school dropout monkey that resides behind the counter.b3freak wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2018 3:01 pmThank you B-Ran! Naw, it's the real deal. I'm supposed to get everything squared away at the bank tomorrow provided the seller emails me a copy of the title. I'm having to get a loan for half of the amount. No worries there, I'm good for the money since I have collateral in one of my investment accounts. I sent the seller a $500 deposit to hold the car. Fortunately, he accepted PayPal. That way if the car and seller are bogus, I can file a claim and get my deposit money back. I'm hoping the seller is not yankin' my chain though. In other words, I hope I don't get there and find something clearly wrong with the car (e.g. intermix, loud ticking, slipping clutch, MIL, etc.) or something crazy like, "By the way sir, there is a lien on the car."). He says everything is fine - "need nothing", but you know how that can go, right? I checked the CarFax and no service has been done on the car for quite sometime. There's always a chance the car was serviced by a shop that doesn't report back to CarFax. I truly hope it all works out. It will be nice to have a 996 back in my garage.
p.s. Don't trust anything that OP says. He's always going off the beaten path. If it wasn't for Andy, he wouldn't have lived to see Happy Days. ha!
Oh and I gave up on my winter car search and resolved to be “that guy” that drives his 911 all winter this year. The only issue I have had was after taking it through a car wash to remove ten pounds of salt I started getting a rough running engine and a misfire that has reared its ugly head several times now. I’m going to inspect the coil packs and plugs today, or tomorrow since it will be just above freeze your nuts off cold then, but those were all replaced last spring.
But anywho, congrats on the possible purchase my friend!! May your cylinders never score and your IMSB never make marble noises! May your phone find a happy place to reside and may you never be confused on which type of oil to buy!

The deal went through my 996 Outpost brothas!
I'm extremely busy at work, but I wanted to upload some images for you. I'll give you the whole kit and kaboodle details when I have more time. Lot's to tell, but good news is the engine is strong and the clutch is smooth... much better than my '03 cab.
The images are from my father-in-law's shop. The last one is specially for Kalash so that he knows the images are legit.
