Hardtail MTB w/ disc brakes should be a good platform. This controller includes pedal assist, which was a little work to install. Just like with the 996, having a decent set of bike tools is essential.

This 3-point rack is rated 200 lbs...20 lbs of batteries ain't gonna break it.

This is the hall effect pedal sensor. I had to pull off the crank arm and work the sensor as far into the bottom bracket as it would go. After reinstalling the crank, it's virtually invisible...

The pedal assist level and throttle settings are made using the LCD controller mounted next to the speedo.

Mount that SBC to the bike and then you'd have something...like fantastic YouTube content (and large hospital bills)!

Billy, I've been playing the long game with that motor. I've been pitching the idea of dropping it into a small V-drive ski boat or something similarly ridiculous, and the Mrs. appears to be nibbling. While it's still on the stand, the possibilities are endless...as soon as I commit to a project, all the others get permanently deferred.

I do too, but I'm glad that The Grand Tour will go out with something of a swan song.

If you aren't following, the last season(s) of The Grand Tour will be, essentially, a series comprised only of Top Gear / Grand Tour-type "specials." Instead of the tent schtick and running cars around the Eboladrome, the three guys will ONLY be doing epic trips (like the Mongolia special).

It took them a while, but the three of them figured out how to get Jeff Bezos to travel around the world and play with mega-exotic cars. This isn't exactly a shit job, at least in my estimation...

I hope they still do episodes where they build some piece of shit and do a bunch of challenges. Those were great.

One of my favorites was the "classic hot hatchbacks and the supermarket sweep"!

Any update on the bike?
