Re: New Member Intros
Thanks! We have had quite a mix of shitty weather here. Yesterday was rain / freezing rain, although I did take the car to Costco for a fill up and to get some storm supplies (case of wine). Plan was to hit the car wash on the way back, but by then it was pouring. At least that did wash off some of the salt from the road trip from Chicago. Then the rain turned to an ice storm, then a snow storm, and right now it is 9 degrees outside (but sunny). So the filthy 911 is sitting in the garage waiting for the roads to clear up before it gets to the car wash - hopefully can do Tuesday as I have a business trip Wednesday - Saturday. Sometimes I hate this time of year.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 9:26 amNice pics thanks for the post. White stuff on ground does stink!Battery Guy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 11:15 am
OK, here goes. Pics when just out of the detail shop. Super clean and shiny. Note what it is parked on top of - the mortal enemy of a clean car...
Drive home was pretty uneventful given the weather forecast. Amazed how tight these cars are though, especially after twenty years. Hit plenty of rough road, but the car itself was tight and rattle-free. The hardtop squeaking right above my head was just about ready to make me jettison it along the side of the road but it made it home too!
Next projects, in no particular order. Replace console glove box door (hinge broken). Replace parking brake handle (leather deteriorated). Replace shift knob (all scratched up, may try touch up paint). Replace sun visor mirrors (plastic deteriorated, covers came off). Order a set of coco mats. Replace stereo - still trying to decide which way to go - Continental or double-din. Add a license plate frame. All pretty minor stuff - I had an indy shop do the heavy lifting with the car in the last few weeks - new clutch, rear main seal, IMS bearing, sway bar links, fluids and filters...
So now I just need some better weather to drive it!!

For the record, Gnat is running about 90% broomstick vs. 10% non-broomstick this week. Plan accordingly.

Sitting on a plane in the Bahamas loading folks in a hurry to get back to a snow storm.
I haunt the other forums (not literally) like RL, RT, 911UK. A lot of 99x owners have giant broomsticks up their bums, so I like this site for its valuable blend of bawdiness and brainpower (so far about 50/50).
On my second 996, crashed the first, and also have an ‘06 CTTS. Can’t wait to get home and post some tailpipe pics. Racey!

You hurt KC's fragile sensibilities by telling one member to fuck off and you never live it down
At least I can attest that there are not double standards for the Mods around here

On the plus side, I'm going to double your moderator pay. This means that you will be earning exactly as much money from the site as I am, so I will obviously have some expectations.

Welcome Mfranzdorf! Glad to hear you’re from NW Ohio and not the dark side of the moon!
Don’t be a stranger. Start some threads on your other hobbies. I used to ride a little motocross back in the late ‘80’s (but very little). I had an RM125 - don’t remember the year, but just that it was one of the first years they went from dual rear shocks to the mono shock (if that tells you how long ago).
Beautiful cabriolet. Thanks for joining!
