They do! Unless you have a Porsche and then they're happy for you to do it if you're the nervous type (like me).

You guys are getting off easy south of the great privacy hedge on the Canadian border. We're currently paying what works out to around $5.10 US/gallon ($1.77 Cdn/litre) here in the greater Vancouver area for 94 octane.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Today I paid $3.359/gallon for 91-octane ethanol-free premium, which is my current fuel of choice. After my home state’s years of leading the league in eastern US gas taxes, it’s my fervent hope that NY officials don’t find out what other states (primarily PA) are charging. These clowns have never met a tax they don’t like, or can’t raise.
When I drive from NY to PA to visit my folks, I buy my gas in central Jersey. The stations near the PA and NY borders seem to jack up their prices so they’re just a few pennies less than the neighboring states. Not a surprise, I guess.

Girlfriend's car will most likely be totaled after a kid with no license (technically he had one - it just wasn't his), no insurance, and no registration hit her trying to cross a 5 lane road with a double solid yellow line. Thankfully she is okay. She's been wanting a Prius due to her 1.5 hr hour commute (each way) and rising gas prices. Any other fuel efficient/hybrid sedans she should be looking at?

Yeah. For a new boy friend that won't let her make such terrible car choices!sweet victory wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 10:43 pm Any other fuel efficient/hybrid sedans she should be looking at?
Bummer about the accident. Glad she is ok.

I’ve had a bunch of Ford Fusion hybrids as rentals - they drive better than a Prius and with leather they are pretty nice inside. Very roomy. Also the C-Max is worth a look if you want a hatchback. Both are probably being given away right now at the dealers. If it matters, both are available as a plug-in hybrid too, but they are pretty expensive for 30 miles of battery only range.sweet victory wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 10:43 pm Girlfriend's car will most likely be totaled after a kid with no license (technically he had one - it just wasn't his), no insurance, and no registration hit her trying to cross a 5 lane road with a double solid yellow line. If you have a lower budget and her commute allows for it, off-lease BMW i3’s can be had for well under $20k and that is a really nice driving car. Funky looking though, but kind of cool. Either you like it or you don’t.
When Audi bought back our A3 diesel a couple of years ago we looked hard at the A3 plug in hybrid, but were not too impressed. Car was for my wife - she ended up with a new VW GTI. For as fast as that car is it gets good mileage.
