Busy, MIL has been in and out of the hospital. 7 year old having attention problems in school. I'm back in school, you guys know, life.
Decided, it needed to be washed and waxed before the winter really hits. Look at this weather, then looked at the pile of homework I have due.....
Still haven't gotten to washing or waxing my damm car, but my homework is done.

Which I think partially explains the fuel in the oil this time. Also, when I changed the oil, I started the car, backed it up on the ramps, then turned it off. The car probably wasn't running for more than a few minutes, and that example is listed in the report. Anyway, just wanted to post to see what the group thought. I was not happy about having to add oil initially. I did watch it though, and the oil level didn't fall after I noticed it was low or after I added the oil.

Burning a quart of oil every 1000 miles is normal according to JR. Remember, your only 1 quart low at the last bar.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 2:44 pm 00 911-191109.pdfGot my latest oil report. Seems pretty good. Just something to note, unlike in the past I ended up adding a quart of oil the week before I changed it to get it up to the halfway mark. It didn't fall past the minimum, but it was lower than what I am comfortable with when cold. I felt better after reading the owner's manual, which said that short trips may contribute to oil levels falling because of the additional fluid in the oil from these trips.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it, except the car has never burned oil before. It's only been three years, but I haven't added a drop in that time. Like I said, I hope short trips added moisture into the system which burned off. I really like having a car that doesn't burn oil. :0808Bill wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 12:20 pmBurning a quart of oil every 1000 miles is normal according to JR. I get pretty carried away with the whole 'warm up to operating temp' & short trip thing. Even when I take the 911 for a couple of errands, I'll drive for 15-20 minutes before stopping anywhere. M96 Paranoia.

Glad you came to check in. Sometimes you just need to focus on yourself, brother! Hope school is going well for you.
I don't know if you heard - but it was a good week in the 996 forum.

I use my new engine as an excuse to go for long drives cumulating in some "leg stretching" on the hi-way back home. I think you are doing it absolutely correct!Einsteiger wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:37 pm I get pretty carried away with the whole 'warm up to operating temp' & short trip thing. I squeegeed some of the standing water out of the garage - past the 996's rear tires. Does that count?

Does it count? In a word
And, you live in San Diego while the rest of us are staring down winter like Lynyrd Skynyrd on the dance floor with another man's woman staring down the barrel of a forty-fo. No bitchin' about the weather for you, mister.
