Fun fact: the Grand Cherokee has two batteries. I only know where the biggun is...

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Spare tire well - explains why the spare is mounted at a goofy angle.

Why do the GC need deux batteries?

..and what's up with that name anyway? People raise hell about sports team names and Jeep has been using that for years! Asks the guy who has some Cherokee blood in him and who used to own a GC and never gave it a second thought...

OK, serious question for Schnelly as you are the resident Jeep expert (no offense to Cuda and his).

What say you about a JGC SRT8 that is a little long in the tooth (say 2012 model with 90,000 miles), but well cared for?
Crap wagon asking for trouble like my old A8L, or a decent way to spend $15,000 or so for an interesting daily driver?

In order to pretend that it doesn't get shitty mileage, it's got a start/stop system that powers down the engine when you're stopped. The aux battery powers the infotainment gear (and other stuff - didn't dig in that far) to avoid draining the primary battery of cranking amps...

The one thing that REALLY pissed me off about this Grand Cherokee transaction: the sales dorks did not disclose that there was a single key fob for the vehicle until after the paperwork was done. As you can appreciate, this pissed me off mightily, but I was sick as a dog that day (10/31) and wasn't up for a fight. Yet.

It took a couple of weeks to build up the proper combination of rage and passive-aggressive frustration while looking for the right target for my aggression; I settled on the GM (who also happens to be on my town's City Council). I was able to convey the degree of my unhappiness and that I would not be purchasing a third Jeep from him unless someone started answering my f*****g messages.

They're cutting and programming a new key tomorrow.

Or to really scare the piss out of them, you could've called that chick from your band:

(and after all of the razzing I've given you about her, I hope to hell that's not the current Mrs. Schnell)

...of course, now that I made a stink, everyone is bending over backwards. That's great, and I'm grateful - but dammit, they should have friggin' done this in the first place.
