Well, this is mostly the reason why I won't get me the bike again. If a long white sedan has to deal with so much distractions, riding a bike would be a fucking suicide. Sad, but true.

I've always wanted a bike, but all it takes is a quick trip out in traffic to disabuse myself of that idea.

Outside the idiocy shown here, the number of full size SUVs sitting a few feet behind a bike at highway speeds scares the crap out of me.

I mused, once, at lunch, about buying a bike here. All the guys at the table started telling me about the time they owned a bike and were hit by a car. (One guy was drug behind a van about 1 city block.) Then one by one they all made their impassioned case why I should not buy a bike. This was 3 random friends out of a group of 5 or so.

Suicide indeed.
