TCL?? Who the hell is that? Never heard of them. Besides this tv is mounted on a wall to allow viewing in the kitchen and the eat-in adjacent to the kitchen. So 75" would be over kill. I see you can buy this make in a 43" size for $230...I still ask who the hell is TCL?FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 7:20 am Ah, you’re missing the opportunity of a lifetime, Billy.
“Honey, our old 42” TV is on the fritz. I’m gonna run out and grab us a new one.”
Then hop on Amazon and order this 75” bad boy for $799:

I have a 65” TCL Roku TV in our family room that I bought for $478 last fall at Wally World. So far, so good.
And, no such thing as being too rich, too skinny or a TV that’s too big. I think Thomas Jefferson said that.

I forget who actually makes the TCL screens, but the company started as a budget brand for one of the bigger mfgs. Last I saw they were actually getting decent reviews.
As you are used to plasma, however, you're likely only going to find an OLED as an acceptable replacement when the time comes.

I bought a 45" Roku TV from a buddy who picked a size too big for his wall. $50. Best damn deal of a lifetime.

I bought the same exact TV and I love it. I didn't think the Roku platform would add much to the experience, but just being able to search across all providers for specific content alone is pretty cool. I also didn't think 4K would be that much of a step up, wrong again.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 8:02 am I have a 65” TCL Roku TV in our family room that I bought for $478 last fall at Wally World. They are a budget manufacturer, so we'll see how long this thing holds up. At this price point, it doesn't have to be forever.

Re: I think one of my plasma tv is dying
Same here. If I get 5 years out of it, I'm happy - I'll probably be ready for whatever better TVs they have out by then. The 50" TV it replaced was 11 years old and I probably paid $1,000 for it. The 65" TCL is a quantum leap better in pretty much every way.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 9:01 amI bought the same exact TV and I love it.
