I can't speak to that - I haven't ever purchased an "OEM" MAF. However, the Bosch parts I've purchased in the past have sucked far less than this non-Bosch example.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

My 997 airbox came with a Bosch MAF sensor. It came off of a running vehicle. Do you want the sensor?

Your efforts, even with all the angst, have saved the rest of us a lot of time and wasted money. At least we now know that Autozone is not a preferred supplier. 8-)

I got my Bosch MAF for ~$130 shipped with a life time warranty from there. You just need to wait for coupons.

Show me a better deal? The same sensor is $280+ on Pelican.

If you use promo code taxtime20, that brings it down to $135 shipped w/ life time warranty. Just saying.

I’m good, thanks. The good news out of this mess is that I actually cleaned my old MAF well enough that I am going to let it ride until a new Bosch unit arrives. I wanted to try the Autozone “house brand” experiment as the price seemed too good to be true. It was...

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Updated update for my update: Clean (old) MAF is happier than a pig in mud; I haven't bothered trying to return the Autozone mess yet, but I will get to that in the next couple of days.

Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.

Boy is this place a great education. Demystifying the maintenance of the 996. No baristas my it sure will stretch my monthly Social Security. And this MAF thing looks like you won't even get dirty. Thanks to all.

Question...what is MAF cleaner? Something you spray on the wire until all the crap falls off?
