Gave myself and the car a new mass airflow sensor for Christmas. Immediately notice a smoother throttle response. Christmas Eve my brother in law and his wife cooked my wife and I a wonderful Schnitzel. On Christmas day we returned the favor and cooked her brother and his wife a nice prime rib dinner with whole baby potatoes and carrots and butternut squash and a decent Bordeaux. New Years Eve will be Cornish game hens stuffed with pearl onions and cherry tomatoes, Caesar salad, oven roasted potatoes and lima beans. New Years day will be chili and coleslaw and cornbread. All the shopping just another excuse to enjoy the 996. Hope everyone is healthy and happy.

Nice.

Did you disconnect the battery for a while after replacing the MAF? The Motronic will start adapting fuel trims immediately, but disconnecting the battery will greatly accelerate the process.

If you were within a few weeks of needing an emissions test, I wouldn't do this - but since you just got the car, you have the better part of 2 years before you have to visit your friendly neighborhood smog guy...

Pee Pee Eye wishes you all a Happy New Year. Except Gnat, who Pee Pee Eye says isn't worth a sack of drippy dick tips.

That dog can be brutally frank sometimes.

This is his "I know what's in your browser history, Gnat" look.

Why does your dog have on booties and what looks to be a sweater? Was this a pic from up in the mountains or did the climate in SoCal change suddenly?

The boots are for tomorrow night...he knows just how wrong New Year's Eve can go. He can ford rivers of sick 1-2 inches deep with those things.

(Or: We're up in Big Bear...there's still about a foot of snow on the ground and it was below freezing. He's got a bomber jacket because he's a senior doggo who deserved one, and the boots keep him from tracking slush everywhere...)

That's about as excited as he gets. Sometimes when he's REALLY psyched, his tongue will stick out for a while.

Unless you're an intruder - that's when his inner chihuahua comes out.

Happy New Year to Everybody!

Post by 32wildbilly » Thu Dec 31, 2020 10:20 am

Happy New Year!

If you go out to celebrate do it in a safe manner.

If you drink don't drive. Trust me. I've been there done that more than anyone should have. I was lucky/unlucky(your choice) that I never got caught or wrecked. It's just not worth the risk.

Here's hoping that 2021 is much better than 2020.

Cheers
