Ordered parts to bring the c4s out of slumber. Still waiting on the People's Republic of New Jersey to fix some of these craters though.....
Ha ha! When are you planning on driving your car? 2050?
Damm. thats cold.

wait, you live in the swamps. you know how bad the bridge between East Rutherford and Secaucus has been. If you aren't in the left lane, you gonna lose some fillings.

Oh I know all abour the roads here. I bottomed out on 280 past the train station in the 996 the first time I drove into the city. Boy did I curse. No one else is allowed to say anything bad about Jersey however.

I avoid 280 exclusively because of that spot.

Say anything bad about Jersey, its gonna be a problem.

So, I woke the car up two weeks ago. I almost immediately drove it down to the shore and back, all told 3 hours without a problem. Last night, the wife and I drove a couple towns over to get takeout and when we come back the g*#@!%&^# coolant cap is leaking again, ever so slightly. But enough to annoy me.

The car is not overheating. But I assume "city" driving (as opposed to the highway drive I took) is heating it up enough to get it to leak. I ordered a new cap that will be here on Thursday. When I get a chance later today I need to check the coolant level, see if I can get it tight enough, and drive it around town for half an hour. Frustrating. Not sure what else I can do. I suppose the coolant neck might be bad, in which case I'm screwed. But other than that, its just leaking. I know where the leak is coming from. Its hard to fix.

What should I look for with the gasket? I just bought this one in September 2020, but I didn't put it on tight enough and that's where my woes began. I wonder if it spraying coolant everywhere damages the cap.

Didn't realize it was such a recent cap. Similar thing happened to me. New cap, put it on, started leaking, tightened the crap out of it and hasn't leaked since approx. 6 years. It's been through two coolant changes and no problems.

Yeah, I don't know. Might be change in temp from cold to hot outside, it could be my car is a Pisces, who knows. I thought I had this little problem fixed though.

Alright, I topped up the coolant (which hardly needed it, but as long as I was there) and torqued this thing as much as I could without using a wrench. If this thing still leaks, I'm selling (just kidding, the rest of the car is the awesome).
