Y'all are missing out on some good exchanges on the "other" side. Threads are getting locked and hell is breaking loose. It's about time for a least two users that have stirred up crap over there for the past few years.

Then there are the people who threaten Mod repercussions if their thread does not progress in exactly the way they think it should...Sigh.

So far, there are two threads have been locked with one remaining that is close to it. Glad to see the mods stepping in on this one.

I don't see the second one, but the Ferrous matter in Oil one, where there seem to be questions around whether the LN Retrofit is subject to dirty oil is interesting. Boxman90 seems to have a point, but I don't know how many bearings fail (which would point to a real issue). Boxman90 was being kind of a dick, but I've seen worse. If it's a legit question, why was it locked? I have an idea.

2. Ferrous Metal in OIl Filter thread
Well, Boxman90 and Nick_L have been beating their drum for several years. Charles, Jake, and Skip have answered their questions in the past, but it's like they don't read the responses or when they don't like the way they responded, they turn to antagonism.
Have we forgotten Martin from Forscheland? hahahahaha Same kind of thing.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
ha ha, just saw that one too. He put a knockoff sealed bearing in and thinks everyone should do that. Did he explain how his new sealed bearing will keep its seal the way the Porsche one did not? If not, then isn't it subject to the same failure as the Porsche one? What's different? What was the crack about greasing bearings. Isn't that true, that the sealed bearing from Porsche has grease that washes away if the seal fails? good lord.b3freak wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:55 pmlocked...OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:47 pm

By the way, I am about to pull the trigger on the Solution, installed by a indy I trust. I'll post photos once its done.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
I can't even remember what Nick_L is talking about. I'd have to refresh my memory. But yes, it was about the OEM Porsche bearing being packed with grease and that is true, the OE bearings come from the factory with packed grease like all sealed bearings. The debate was if it is safe to have an open bearing (seal removed) in this application where debris-laden oil could potentially damage the bearing. Raby has replied with ... "all" components inside the engine are subject to damage with oil that is polluted with metal. It's liquid sandpaper as Jake puts it.OceanBlue2000 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:59 pmha ha, just saw that one too. He put a knockoff sealed bearing in and thinks everyone should do that. But that's really not the core issue with Boxman. IMHO, He thinks that it's robbery that LN charges what they do for their bearings kits and that the warranty is a joke... yada yada yada. He seems to pop up everything time another IMS/oil/LN discussion starts only to antagonize Jake, Charles, and even Skip.
