2005 C4S. Replaced oil pressure sensor within the last 4-5 years due to the "HOLY CRAP!" syndrome(drop to zero, sound alert. go back to proper oil pressure, wash-repeat). Recently I have noticed that before I start the car for the first time in the day that the gauge goes up to 0.5 to 1 when the ignition is turned on. Ok Ok I know the drill, but wait there's more. If I turn the key back off without starting the engine then switch the ignition back on(not starting the engine) it stays at zero. In addition after driving the car shutting it off, go in to do some shopping and come back out switch on ignition it stays at zero! Seems like only first ignition on of the day causes this reaction. When I stop being lazy I'm going to try to get my hands on the wires as it sounds like a false feed from dirt/crud/corruption/moisture to me. Or maybe these things just have a short life span. BTW car is garaged.
Anybody have this syndrome or "try this" ideas?

Re: Oil pressure sensor weirdness...
My money is on mice from the wheat fields or the ignition switch (probably too much wheat dust).

That, or based on your ignition key turning sequence description, you may simply have too much damn time on your hands.
One drive in my 928 and your head would explode. It’s like a fucking disco in there with warning lights and needles doing weird stuff.
