This radio failure symptom has not returned even though numerous near full volume events have occurred!
Huh...what...I can't hear you...hearing ain't so good...must be from so many years working for the RR...wonder if I can still sue them?

I use those stupid FM/Bluetooth cigarette lighter adapters and the alternator whine is much louder in the 996 than my other old beaters.

The old-school solution is to pull unswitched power directly from the battery so you don't get any AC interference (alternator whine)...or add an RF choke to the unswitched power line and audio source cable(s)...
