What did you do to/with your 996 today?
Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
I just ordered up a new LED third taillight for the ol' girl...my current (also aftermarket) light has some blown LEDs. $60 vs. $198 for a new OEM unit.
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

I bought a new one for mine 6 years ago. It’s still sitting on my workbench. The old one works fine, it was just blacked out to match the blacked out taillights that I replaced with LED taillights. So, it hasn’t been a priority.
Plus, KC-Car-Guy said his was a PITA to swap out.
And I’m lazy.

My wife just texted me that I got a "FCP Box" so I guess it shipped with no notification. I'll take it!

Changed the oil with Herr Porsche's Wonderful Tantalizing Oil and Dessert topping and put the car away finally. Boo. Just in time as a "light" predicted snow got us at least 6 inches. See you in April old lady! I should probably order her a water pump over the winter, it's past due.

Walked out to the garage. Adjusted the heater unit to warm the garage a little for a waterless-wash since it's supposed to be nice this weekend. By the time the garage warmed up enough, my enthusiasm had cooled. Turned off the supplemental heat and went back upstairs.

Re: What did you do to/with your 996 today?
I built a crate.
This is to send my spare gearbox out for inspection and repair of any bearings that might need it; check the LSD and rebuild it if needed; add the fittings for a gearbox cooler; and if I can afford it regear 1st/2nd/3rd with the 997.2GT2RS gears and steel syncros for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
The ultimate plan is to swap out the Tip for this manual box. I have everything that I think I need except for the clutch hydraulic pipes.
